Adult Probation

In addition to many of the features offered within the standard CMS Case Management System, the Adult Probation System also offers many specific features relating to Adult Probation such as the following:

Officer Assignment

The Probation Officer Assignment module tracks the Probation Officer’s involvement in a case. The Officer can be manually assigned, the Officer can be randomly assigned from a list of potential Probation Officers, or specific ‘rotation assignment’ rules can be followed. A history of the Probation Officers assigned is maintained. Probation Officers can be transferred from one case to another if necessary. Entire caseloads can be switched from officer to officer to balance caseloads, handle personnel turnover, or allow better officer utilization.

Special Programs

This module tracks referrals from the Probation Officer or the Court to special services available to the offender. Included are counseling, halfway houses and drug treatment centers which identify offenders registered for the services and whether the treatment was completed. Reports to identify if programs are successful to reduce recidivism are also available.

Intervention Unit

This module allows an offender to be diverted from an official case to determine if counseling can be used to avoid prosecuting the offender. Contact with the offender through Intervention Unit is maintained to identify the type of contact and the Court personnel involved in the contact. Appointment schedules are tracked. Reports help to determine if the Intervention Unit was successful in eliminating recidivism.

Contact Tracking

Contact with the offenders through the Probation Department is captured to provide a history of contact with the Court. Contacts can include phone calls, home visits, reports, etc. Court personnel involved in the contact, the type of contact, and free-form notes about the contact are also tracked.

Work Detail

This module tracks the information related to an offender assigned Work Detail. A Work Detail schedule is maintained to identify when an individual is to appear for work assignment. A status identifying if the offender appeared and the time remaining to satisfy the Work Detail order is maintained. Free-form notes concerning the Work Detail assignment are available for the Work Detail Administrator.

Electronic Monitoring

This module tracks offenders that have been diverted from institutional incarceration and are instead placed on home-based incarceration. Contact with the offender through EMU is maintained to identify the valid out times and acceptable variations to the EMU schedule. Reports to determine if the Electronic Monitoring Unit was successful in eliminating recidivism are available.
